Tea, Lace, and Roses Victorian Tea House

Culpeper Victorian Tea House My sister threw me a wonderful bridal shower at a new Victorian Tea House in my hometown. Located just off of Main Street in Culpeper, Virginia, the Tea, Lace, and Roses Tea House was a beautiful and unique place to have a bridal shower.

The rooms are elegantly decorated in roses and lace. Guests get to select a hat from a large selection of garden-party style hats and feathered boas. Once each guest chooses a hat, the party can be seated to begin their three-course tea. Our tea included three different types of brewed tea, finger sandwiches, stuffed peppers and figs, and delicious scones with jam and cream. Although I'm generally not much of a tea drinker, I found myself trying all three types. They were each delicious in their own way, but my favorite was the traditional wedding tea.

Tea, Lace, and Roses is the ideal setting for bridal showers, baby showers, girly birthday parties, and children's tea parties. Although the decorations are very feminine, it's also a great place for couples to stop in and have tea and a bite to eat. Upstairs, they offer an assortment of tea-related gifts and trinkets for purchase.

Location: 123 West Davis Street; Culpeper, Virginia 22701
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday - 11:00 am to 4:30 pm

Culpeper has grown a lot in the past ten years. The tea house is yet another nice addition to the bakery, antique shops, and specialty boutiques that now line Main Street and Davis Street. Whether you're headed to Culpeper, or just passing through, Tea, Lace, and Roses is definitely worth a visit.

Victorian Greetings from Seattle!

Congratulations on your impending wedding. I wish you many, many years of happiness....

I am a fellow High Tea lover and historical costuming enthusiast. If you'd like to see the Valentine Tea that my costuming group called Somewhere in Time, Unlimited recently held in Mukilteo Washington, feel free to do so. I have posted it out to the regular website which is: www.SITUSeattle.com (or if it's easier to remember: www.CostumingInSeattle.com )Click on "Prior Events" and scroll down until you see Valentine's Tea.

On my own blog, I have just posted a reference to both a 7-course Victorian meal as well as a Victorian Rose Poundcake. Hope you can catch both notations.

Here's a toast to you and the groom!
